Jordyn's 1st Flight/Colorado

This is a long post.....Enjoy!

Thursday, May 6th, Jordyn and I embarked on a new journey! Jordyn had her first experience flying! We got to the Las Vegas airport around 4 o'clock. Our flight wasn't scheduled to leave until 6:30. I wanted plenty of time for her to take in the sights and not have to hurry! She did really well going through security. She thought it was funny that you had to take off your shoes so they could check them and make sure they were safe! I went through the metal detector first, then had her walk to me. She seemed a little hesitant to walk through it. I guess it's a good thing it didn't go off on either one of us!

Her 1st really exciting moment was the tram that took us to the D gate. She thought the "train" was so much fun! Especially when it went into the tunnel. She felt really big being able to hold onto the pole, like the adults!

At the D Gate, there was this rock lizard. At first she was kind of scared to even get close to it. After about 2 seconds she wanted to climb on his back!

Jordyn was impressed that you could see the plane from the window. She was really intrigued about walking through the "white thing" to get onto the plane.

She didn't really want to walk around the terminal and really didn't complain about having to wait. She was very patient and just enjoyed seeing the planes coming in and leaving. When it came time to board the plane, she just took the whole thing in and slowly made her way to the airplane. Once she got on the plane she kept asking if we were moving yet. She was really, really excited to get going! Once the plane started moving, she held onto the tail of her seat belt, and gave a little shout when it took off!

She sat in her seat, and kept her seat belt on the entire time. I thought she would get bored, but she didn't. She was so calm, the entire time, even when it came time to land. Nothing bothers this kid! Friday we looked at a few houses and just hung out at Aunt Bonnie's house. Saturday we decided to take in some "Local Entertainment". In Hotchkiss they had the Sheep Dog Trials. It was actually quite entertaining. Those dogs are very very smart. Jordyn had a great time watching the dogs bring in the sheep from the pasture!
The park in Paonia is amazing. There is something for every age. Jordyn met a few kids her age there. They really hit it off. She played for hours at this park. To the left of this picture is a HUGE grassy/tree area. There are several activities that take place in the park throughout the summer.
Jordyn flew off the Merry Go Round. It was not her highlight! This spiny thing was crazy. I sat in it for about 2 seconds and got super dizzy. It gets spinning quite fast.
Bonnie had this stick horse at her house for her grandsons. Jordyn just adopted it as her own and would barely put it down. She of course named it "The Black". She would run back and forth all day at Bonnie's doing the rodeo!
Our family picture right before Jordyn and I left Grand Junction. Our plane! Yes, we had to walk down the tarmac to get onto the plane! Crazy small town airports!
We found a couple of houses that we are very interested in. We thought we were set on one, but Sunday morning we found another that may work better for our family.
We had a great time as a family. It was very hard to leave Cody and Colorado, but knowing that it's only for another 2 1/2 weeks I think I can handle it. Jordyn did very well on the plane, and in Colorado. I know this move will be a great opportunity for us!

Quick Update!!

Friday April 30th I had my first official Dr appointment with Dr Chamberlain to see how everything is progressing! He said everything was right on track for being 10 weeks pregnant! I finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was awesome! It was beating at about 177 beats per minute, which according to the Old Wives tale says its a girl! Of course we aren't going to take that as the truth, but it's kind of fun to wonder if it could be right. After hearing the heartbeat it made everything a lot more real. I was excited before, but now that I know that he or she is alive and growing I'm more excited! I go back to see Dr.Chamberlain again on May 24th. At that appointment he will order an ultrasound. I'm not expecting to find out the sex of the baby then, but it will be nice to make sure everything is progressing well before we move to Colorado!

This Thursday, Jordyn and I are flying over to Colorado to see Cody! We are both way excited for that! It will be Jordyn's first flight. She's been asking for quite awhile to go on one, so it should be really fun for her! I'll take a lot of pictures and post them as soon as we get back!
